Staring at the sea // Dec 31, 2008 // Comments [3]
Today's shot is somewhat different from the highly saturated colours of the previous two days entries.
It shows my wife on Whitesands Beach. It was shot on 23rd December and marks a new experiment for me with a camera. This is because I used a B+W 110 ND filter. Although taken in daylight the heavy filtration (from a piece of glass which was designed for uses in industry to photograph light bulb filaments when illuminated) meant that the shutter was open for almost a minute. This produced the 'soft' look and heavy vignetting. If you look closely at the scene you can see the ghostly figures of our two Springer Spaniel dogs.
